2011 Peavey Classic 30 112 Combo
I bought this in April 2012 because I needed a low powered amp to use in the small rooms that my band normally played in. I had become dissatisfied with using the PodXT Live directly through the PA, at least partly because I was almost never loud enough in the mix, but also because it sounded kind of artificial. And my Crate 50 was just way too loud.
It's a 30 watt all tube amp. It has pretty simple controls and you can't dial in different EQ for the clean and distortion channels, so it's not like a late model Mesa Boogie for example.
Some say that these sound a bit harsh but it sounds great in my opinion. I did try out a 30w Orange when I was looking but while it sounded a bit better the price was double, and the Orange controls were a bit weird and not very intuitive in my opinion.
I replaced the original "Blue Marvel" speaker with a Celestion Sidewinder 12 and that made quite an improvement.
I also have a Mesa / Boogie V Twin pedal that provides plenty of variety in my sound.
