Fender Hot Rod III Deluxe 112 combo

1 August 2019

I bought this second hand sometime in 2013 - I can't remember exactly when. It's a very nice amp and at 40 watts it has just the right amount of power for my purposes. I bought it to replace my Mesa Boogie DC3 that I found to be a bit too muddy.

It had 2 footswitchable channels (clean and drive) with another footswitch for "more drive". I've read reviews saying that the distortion on the drive channels is not very good but it worked for me.

One thing to be wary of is the rubber handle. They always break and if it happens at the wrong time you could do serious damage to your foot or the amp itself. Mine broke but I was lucky. I replaced it with a much more sturdy leather handle.

I sold this in July 2019 after I got my hand built amp.

See the Fender web site for full specs.
