Anthony Dwyer's Guitars

2005 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe

23 June 2010

Bought in February 2007 from a guy in Sydney's west. He had paid well over $4000 for it brand new a couple of years before, and he was selling a matching 12-string model too!

It had a fantastic sound both acoustically and electrically, but for reasons I can't explain I never felt comfortable with it. Despite that I would recommend one to anyone - the sound was just so good.

It had a rosewood back and sides (that really DID smell like roses), a spruce top with an incredible silking effect (you can pretty much see it in the photo below), and a mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and bridge.

I sold it to a singer/songwriter named Pete Ross in Melbourne in September 2007 for the same money as I paid for it.
