2015 Cole Clark Fat Lady FL2EC - RDBW

1 December 2024

This was bought locally in early April 2024. I don't normally like Cole Clarks or Dreadnoughts but it was a bargain and I thought it'd be handy to have another relative cheapie to just keep in open D tuning all the time. If you're familiar with the architectural style called "Brutalism" then that's the way I see Cole Clark's guitars. They don't try to pretty them up, the standard of finish is pretty basic, but the pickups are great. This guitar really grew on me in the first few months of owning it and I wound up buying another Cole Clark a few months later.

This model number decodes as Fat Lady (Dreadnought body shape) model 2 with a pickup and a cutaway. Model 1 is the most basic model, model 2 is the medium range and model 3 is more fancy with rather garish paua shell inlays and so on. I believe the 'RDBW' means Redwood top and Blackwood back and sides.

Cole Clark Fat Lady guitar peghead join
Peghead join making absolutely no attempt to pretty it up but it does look indestructible
