2020 Taylor 314CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic

1 May 2024

This guitar was bought from a guy in Canberra Australia in April 2024. He bought it new directly from Taylor in 2021 and had it shipped to Australia. It had barely been played and didn't have a mark on it when I received it. The plastic coating was still on the pickguard.

Specs are:

  • All solid timbers with Sapele back and sides and Sitka Spruce top
  • Expression System® 2 electronics
  • West African Crelicam Ebony bridge, bridge pins, headstock overlay and fretboard with Italian acrylic gemstone position markers
  • Tusq Nut, Micarta Saddle
  • V-Class Bracing
  • 25-1/2" scale length

Sapele is quite similar to Mahogany. The spruce top is almost white.

This is at the cheaper end of the Taylor line which basically just means it's not very fancy looking. For example the binding is just black plastic, the soundhole rosette is very plain and black, the pickguard is also black plastic. However it has the same construction and electronics as most of the much more expensive models.

Taylor 324CE controls

Model numbers beginning with 1 and 2 are made in Mexico using laminated timbers for the backs and sides. Model numbers from 3 upwards are made in El Cajon California using all solid timbers.
