Variax 700 Acoustic
Another extravagance. I already had my natural coloured one of these, but the piezo units keep wearing out so when this one came up at a bargain price I thought it would be worth having a spare.
I bought it in February 2008 from a guy in Sydney and sold it to a guy in Melbourne in September of the same year, making a few hundred bucks profit on it. I really couldn't justify having two of them as they felt and sounded identical.
When I bought it, it had been done up to look like the one used by The Edge from U2. The photo below on the right is from the ebay ad when I bought it. I peeled that sticker off soon after I bought it, then made myself some pickguards using clear plastic and Mother of Pearl veneer, which looked pretty spectacular under lights.
